As it’s said in the title that Santa Margarita Lake is situated in California, it’s a town with census designed place in San Luis Obispo. Rinconada Trail
You’ll find this trail is the ideal place for hikers, mountain bikers, and horse racers. If you go through to its north, you’ll find there some train tracks and Pozo Rd is only 10 miles away. It stays right and stays on the road when you’ll see the turning for the lake going to your left-hand side. When you’ll go another four miles, you’ll find a sign of the trail that it’s heading its peak on your right. The trail’s ride up is about two miles where it’s the steepest part of the trail. When you’ll climb at the top, you’ll find a Y and you have to move to the left from here. By going to the right, you can continue climbing and you’ll find peaceful, beautiful, fire road climbs. When you’ll reach on the Hi Mountain Lookout, you’ll be able to see all SLO counties.
Blinn Ranch Trail
It’s another trail for hikers, mountain bikers, and horse racers. If you like to go to this trail, you should take off Highway 101 and follow the Pozo signs and pass the turn for the lake. After continuing on the Pozo Road, you have to go to fourteen miles and you’ll find River Road then you have to turn left. If you go this way about two miles, you’ll find the parking on your left-hand side and it’ll cost a fee of $7. From this place, you have to go about nine miles following a dirt road.
Lake’s Campgrounds
As it’s already said the lake is off Highway 58, it’s popular for fishing and boating. Also, the lake is served as a great source of drinking water supply, you’re not allowed to contact with its water. But, you can do it other ways as there is a swimming pool that’s opened for the visitors during the summer season. Besides, you can enjoy the natural area of bike riding, hiking, and horseback riding when you’ll go there. In addition, you’ll find in this lakeside more sixty Santa margarita lake camping that are spread in four campgrounds. You’ll get fire pits and picnic tables in the campsites, but there are no hook-ups.
