1. Tent
The most essential thing for camping is the tent in which you and your fellow campers would be staying. Check your tent at least a day or two prior to the excursion for the tears in it and the poles so that if anything is not in the proper condition or is missed, could be replaced. You can buy used camping gear from many stores so check them out too.
Moreover, checking your tent beforehand is important because if you find any issue in the tent right on the camping day, it could ruin your whole trip.
2. Right Clothes
Pack your clothes depending on the weather of the area where you would be camping. For sunny days, keep lightweight clothes, swimsuits and flip flops for comfortable walks. Whereas for colder days, pack warm jackets, boots that can also be used for hiking.
Apart from these seasonal clothes, some other essential clothing items include, woolen socks, comfy long-sleeved shirt and trousers because nights are always cooler even when the days are warmers, a lightweight hat and most importantly, your sunglasses. You can buy them from any used camping gear store.
3. Emergency Kit
You never know when you or anyone from your camping squad would get a scratch, burn or a cut during camping. For such reasons, prepare a first aid emergency kit that must include, a bandage, band-aids, tape, scissors, an antiseptic and burn healing cream.
4. Torches and Lanterns
Torches and lanterns are really helpful when you have to sneak out of the tent in search of the bathroom or find something from your bag. Buy new torches for your trip so that they don’t get dull very soon. Also, keep a few extra torches in case any torch gets dead or lost.
5. Foldable Table and Chairs
Not everyone likes to sit on the ground and sometimes the ground is much uneven and hard that you don’t sit comfortably. Well, there are comfy foldable tables and chairs in the market which you can buy for your excursion. They are very light in weight, portable and much comfortable.
6. Solar Charger
A solar charger could be a blessing because it could absorb up enough amount of sunlight and get fully charged while you are hiking so that you can easily charge your camera, phone or any other chargeable gadget through a USB cable when there is no other source of power nearby.
7. Food Essentials
While camping, it’s a little hard to find proper restaurants to dine in and have meals so chances are greater that you would be preparing the meal on your own for which you would require some food essentials such as:
- A camping stove with fuel
- Utensils for eating and cooking
- Paper plates and glasses
- Some ready-to-cook packed food
8. Hygiene Essentials
You would be away from your home for a couple of days so, take with you a pocket soap, your toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, hand sanitizer and toilet papers so that you won’t have to compromise on your hygiene.
9. Vacuumed Water Bottle
Your body would require a lot of water intake to keep you hydrated while you hike. So, keep a vacuumed water bottle in which the water stays cool for a longer time.
It is a good idea to buy used camping gear like used kayak equipment as they are cost-effective and still in good shape.
